For Hawaiian Airlines’ 95th anniversary, we depicted a dawn suspended between eras. Framed through a modern aircraft window, the airline’s first plane—the Bellanca Pacemaker—soars alongside ʻiwa birds, long regarded as navigational guides, across a calm Pacific sky. Grounded in the proverb “Lele ka ʻiwa, mālie kai koʻo” (when the ʻiwa bird flies, the rough sea will be calm), the poster honors 95 years of guidance and connection across Hawaiʻi and beyond.
