He Ola Ka Pohaku
“There is life in the stone”

Our logo is built on the saying he ola ka pohaku (“there is life in the stone”). To us, the stacking of three stones represent kahua, or the building of a solid foundation. Within these three stones, a person holding a pōhaku ku‘i ‘ai (stone poi pounder) emerges representing food and health.

Together our logo speaks to the idea that taking care of ourselves is how we build a strong foundation for our people, and symbolizes our mission to empower, educate and promote the health and well-being of our Native Hawaiian community.
